CAI Monterotondo

The Club Alpino Italiano (CAI), Monterotondo Section, is a local branch of Italy’s national alpine club, serving members and mountain enthusiasts in Monterotondo and the surrounding area. It promotes safe, informed engagement with the mountains through organized excursions, courses and training activities, and resources for planning outdoor routes. Its program features hikes across central Italy, including itineraries in the Sabine Mountains and around Lake Turano, combining mountain landscapes with local history, culture and natural heritage.

The section also supports environmental protection and mountain stewardship through its environmental group, trail and mapping resources, and information on mountain safety. Members can consult excursion leaders and hiking companions, explore the section’s library, and access documents, route information and communications about events. The website shares trip reports, photographs, news and the section’s publication, Il Ginepro, helping participants stay connected and contribute to community life. Prospective members can find information about joining the CAI, while visitors can contact the section at its Monterotondo address or during its published office hours.
