The CAI Ravascletto Section is part of the Club Alpino Italiano and brings together members from communities across Alta Carnia, including Ravascletto, Paularo, Cercivento, Arta Terme, Paluzza, Sutrio and Ovaro. With approximately 800 members, the section supports mountain activities and local community participation through facilities, routes and events. It manages the Emiliano Del Fabbro climbing gym near the Ravascletto–Zoncolan cable-car departure point, as well as the Zermula and Ciuc da Guardia via ferratas and the equipped Gamspitz trail.
Since January 2016, it has also managed the Erwin Maier indoor climbing gym, located within the tennis centre in Paluzza. The section is affiliated with ASCA, an association bringing together CAI sections in Carnia and Val Canale. Its website provides information about membership, the section’s statutes and leadership, youth mountaineering, excursions, competitions, events and news, alongside historical records and a selection of books and other CAI gadgets.
Based in Ravascletto, the section serves as a local point of reference for people interested in mountain recreation and the activities of the Italian Alpine Club
