Cairns Judo Club

Cairns Northern Beaches Judo Club is a long-established judo club in Yorkeys Knob, serving the Cairns region since 2000. The club welcomes children, teenagers and adults, from beginners to experienced judoka, and offers classes focused on fitness, self-defence and the martial art and Olympic sport of judo. Its qualified coaches hold National Coaching Accreditation Scheme credentials, Blue Cards and first aid qualifications, supporting a safe and structured learning environment.

Training takes place at the Yorkeys Dojo, a dedicated facility with a 12-by-28-metre permanent mat area for classes, competitions and training camps. The club runs afternoon and evening sessions Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday morning classes, with bookings required and programs aligned with school terms. Members can also take part in competitions, gradings, fundraisers and social events. The club offers free trial lessons and is a registered provider for Queensland’s FAIR PLAY Voucher initiative. It also makes its facility available free of charge to police, fire, ambulance and Australian Defence Force services for daytime defensive training.
