CAI SAN VITO

CAI San Vito al Tagliamento is the local section of the Italian Alpine Club, serving people who share an interest in mountain activities, knowledge and conservation. Founded in 1969 by local mountain enthusiasts, it began as a subsection of the CAI of Pordenone, with its first home at Torre Raimonda in the historic centre of San Vito al Tagliamento. Today, the section brings members together through a varied programme of outdoor, educational and cultural activities.

Its offerings include organised hikes, mountaineering and climbing courses, and activities provided by its hiking school. Members and visitors can also take part in cultural events, talks and presentations, use the section’s library, and visit the Mario Bianco climbing gym. The organisation publishes annual excursion programmes and schedules events such as climbing open days and community gatherings. It also supports maintenance work at mountain shelters and routes, including Casera Pramaggiore and the Pramaggiore bivouac. Based in San Vito al Tagliamento, CAI invites people to join, discover the benefits of membership and enjoy the mountains with respect for their natural environment.
