About Canadian Association of Journalists
The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) has been protecting the public's right to know since 1978. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, they provide advocacy and professional development for journalists throughout Canada. Their mission is to speak on behalf of journalists, support exemplary journalism, and provide a platform for the highest quality content.
Their annual awards program recognizes the best in Canadian journalism, particularly focusing on investigative work. Additionally, the CAJ offers a mentorship program that pairs members with established journalism professionals, professional development and networking events, as well as various perks and benefits such as discounts on home and auto insurance and audio-transcription services. They also have an ethics advisory committee that considers and advises on ethical journalism issues.
The CAJ's work is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive landscape within Canadian newsrooms and providing resources and support for journalists at all stages of their careers
