Club Andernos Kayak Environnement, known as CAKE, is a volunteer-run sports association in Andernos-les-Bains, France, dedicated to recreational sea kayaking and discovering local aquatic environments. Founded in autumn 2012 through the merger of the sea-kayaking clubs of Arès and Lège-Cap-Ferret, it is affiliated with UFOLEP, a sports federation approved by the ministry responsible for sport. The club typically brings together 50 to 60 adult members.
CAKE organizes kayaking activities around the Bassin d’Arcachon and nearby waterways, including the Leyre delta, the Canal des Étangs, and lakes in the Landes and Médoc. Members also navigate farther afield, including the Gironde estuary. To support participation, the association provides members with kayaks made from fiberglass or polyethylene, life jackets, paddles, and spray skirts. This shared equipment also helps members make informed choices if they decide to purchase their own gear. Two trailers enable the group to transport equipment to different launch areas. With a storage space provided by the municipality, CAKE offers an organized setting for adults to enjoy kayaking and explore the region’s waters.
