The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is an organization that works in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ensure the safety of the people of California. Their main focus is to support the use of Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) and the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) throughout the state. The Cal OES website serves as a valuable resource for alerting authorities, providing them with guidelines, resources, and FAQs to effectively utilize IPAWS and WEAs.

It also aims to educate the residents of California about the purpose of WEAs and why they are used. By utilizing these advanced systems, California can promptly and efficiently alert its residents during emergencies, such as natural disasters or other critical situations. The Cal OES is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community by leveraging modern technology and communication networks to disseminate vital information and save lives
