Calgary Bach Choir is a registered charitable nonprofit that has enriched Calgary audiences with choral music since 1988. Led by Artistic Director Terry Edwards, the choir presents an annual three-concert season under the banner “Baroque & Beyond,” bringing together works from the Baroque and Classical eras and a broader range of classical repertoire. Its programs feature composers such as Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Purcell, Haydn, and contemporary choral composers, and may include collaborations with university ensembles, instrumentalists, and other guest artists.
The choir’s auditioned adult singers come from varied backgrounds and perform with professional musicians. It offers experienced amateur choristers a challenging, inspiring opportunity to develop their musicianship and share live performances with the public. Auditions are open for all voice parts, and the organization also creates performance opportunities for emerging artists. Audiences can attend concerts in Calgary, purchase tickets or season passes, and sign up for concert reminders and newsletters.
