About RxSight Light Adjustable Lens
RxSight develops the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL), an FDA-approved intraocular lens that lets surgeons customize vision correction after cataract surgery. Unlike a fixed prescription lens, the LAL can be adjusted after the eye has healed, allowing treatment to be guided by the patient’s actual visual results. RxSight also provides the Light Delivery Device (LDD), which uses light treatments to adjust and then lock in the lens prescription.
The system is indicated for adults undergoing cataract removal who have at least 0.75 diopters of preexisting corneal astigmatism and no preexisting macular disease. The company says the lens can reduce residual astigmatism and spherical refractive error, with clinical study results showing many patients achieved a prescription close to their target. RxSight’s site offers information and resources for both patients and healthcare professionals, including product details, safety guidance, and clinical information. Use of the lens requires postoperative adjustment and lock-in treatments, along with prescribed UV-protective eyewear. The device is available only by or on the order of a physician.
