Calibre Taxidermy

Calibre Taxidermy is a specialist taxidermy business based in Timaru, South Canterbury, New Zealand. Founded by Grant and Chantel Drew, the company draws on Grant’s experience in southern Africa, where he trained with established taxidermists and later mounted trophies from more than 300 African game species. Since building its business in New Zealand, Calibre has developed a reputation for detailed workmanship and serves clients across New Zealand and internationally, including in Australia, the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and Asia.

The company creates taxidermy mounts intended to preserve the character of an animal and evoke the experience and feeling of the hunt. Its services include shoulder, pedestal and life-sized mounts, as well as work featuring birds, fish and exotic animals. Calibre also provides field-care information to help clients look after specimens before mounting. The business works with a wide variety of animal subjects from New Zealand and around the world, emphasizing careful execution and quality. Clients can contact the Timaru team for a quote or to discuss a taxidermy project.
