California Stable

California Stable is a western riding and American Quarter Horse breeding business based in Oberbergkirchen, Germany. Founded on a commitment to horse welfare, the stable has served ambitious competition riders since 1993. Its training approach emphasizes gentle starting for young horses, solid foundational work, and gradual development of each horse’s physical and mental capacity. Training is tailored to individual abilities before progressing to the specialized maneuvers required in western competition.

Services include training and showing competition horses, riding lessons and coaching for competitors, and clinics in Germany and neighboring countries. The team also provides judging for western riding certificates and trainer examinations. Trainers Tom Christ and Eva Maria Obermaier bring extensive competition and coaching experience, including achievements at regional and national events and work with the Bavarian youth squad.

California Stable also offers breeding services with its stallion, CS Sliding Nugget. Successful across disciplines including Ranch Riding, Reining, Trail, and Working Cow Horse, Nugget is described as friendly, willing, and versatile. Breeding is available through shipped frozen semen.
