About Calleguas MWD
Calleguas Municipal Water District is dedicated to providing a reliable supplemental supply of water to Ventura County in a responsible and sustainable manner. Serving as the backbone for water distribution, Calleguas works with retail purveyors to ensure that roughly three-quarters of Ventura County residents have access to high-quality water. Some purveyors combine Calleguas' water with groundwater, while others rely solely on Calleguas for their supply.
Calleguas acts as the import and distribution hub for water sourced from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the State Water Project from northern California. In addition, Calleguas can also extract water from its Las Posas Well Field to increase reliability. Please note that Calleguas does not directly deliver water to consumers; inquiries about water quality or service changes should be directed to local retail purveyors.
