Call of the Wild

Call of the Wild is a ground-based pest control and industry training provider serving New Zealand’s North Island. Led by director Jason Day, who brings more than 25 years of pest control experience and extensive knowledge of the Central North Island, the company works with landowners, iwi, community groups, businesses, and other stakeholders. Its approach combines practical field skills with modern pest management methods, with an emphasis on professionalism, integrity, and effective outcomes.

Pest control services target a range of introduced and problem species, including possums, rodents, mustelids, feral cats, hedgehogs, pigs, goats, deer, wallabies, hares, and wasps. Available methods include trapping, toxin use, thermal and night-vision work, dog teams, monitoring, surveillance cameras, and the supply and construction of DOC and BT traps and boxes. The company also provides training for schools, community groups, volunteers, iwi, and businesses. Instruction can cover pest control techniques, trap placement and safety, while Call of the Wild also advises businesses on suitable tools and methods and helps them pursue pest control grants.
