Colorado Alliance of Latino Mentors & Authors

The Colorado Alliance of Latino Mentors and Authors (CALMA) is a Colorado nonprofit dedicated to discovering, supporting, promoting, and mentoring Latino writers and authors. Its work brings aspiring writers together with published authors who volunteer their time and experience as mentors. CALMA’s mentoring program is open to aspiring writers, who can apply to receive guidance as they develop their writing.

The organization also showcases its members and their work through author features, a bookshelf of titles available to browse and purchase, and events that celebrate literary creativity and community. Its website shares information about membership, upcoming and past events, a gallery, and a blog, along with resources on topics such as literary agents and self-publishing versus traditional publishing.

CALMA highlights the range of its authors’ achievements. One featured author, Dr. Ramon Del Castillo, is a poet, researcher, editor, and former newspaper columnist whose publications include poetry collections and textbook chapters.
