The Calm Chameleon

The Calm Chameleon is a specialist support service based in Ayrshire, helping children, young people and families facing social, emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges. The team has extensive experience supporting children affected by trauma and recognises its impact on wellbeing, family life, school and relationships. Support is tailored to each person through individual assessment, with cognitive and body-based approaches selected according to their needs. The service is non-diagnostic, so a formal label is not required to access help.

The Calm Chameleon supports children aged 7 to 17 with concerns including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, bereavement, peer and relational difficulties, exam stress, impulsivity and self-harm. Its services include mindfulness, talking therapy and TRE®, a simple, non-verbal approach intended to address the effects of stress and anxiety. TRE® can be offered individually or in groups, including for adults, businesses, health and social care, and education. Consultations are available at the Ayrshire studio or at home across Scotland’s west coast, with virtual sessions offered elsewhere.
