Calshot Sailing

Calshot Sailing Club is a family-oriented sailing club based at Calshot Spit, Southampton. It offers a friendly, welcoming community for adults and juniors, from complete beginners to experienced sailors, and invites prospective members to visit and meet the club. Newcomers who have not sailed before can arrange a trial sail, while members without their own boats can hire from a small fleet of club boats, making it easier to gain experience before buying a boat.

The club runs sailing and racing activities almost every weekend from March to December, alongside special events designed to encourage participation across all ages and abilities. Its training programme is supported by RYA-qualified dinghy instructors and club ribs to help ensure safe sailing. Calshot Sailing Club also hosts initiatives such as Women on Water, welcoming more people to take part. Through its programme of sailing, training, boat hire and racing, the club provides opportunities to learn, build confidence and enjoy the Solent in a supportive setting.
