San Diego Cal-SOAP

Cal-SOAP, the California Student Opportunity and Access Program, has been a vital resource since 1978, targeting postsecondary education and financial aid for students in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Operated under the California Student Aid Commission, Cal-SOAP collaborates with the University of California and California State University systems, along with local non-profits and schools, to empower students from low-income families, first-generation college attendees, and those in areas with low college participation rates.

Cal-SOAP offers a variety of services, including intensive college and financial aid advisement through its trained College Readiness Coaches, who provide personalized assistance to high school students. Their programs encompass academic enrichment, workshops for college admissions and financial aid, and test preparation for PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Additionally, the program facilitates events like College Fairs and community workshops to foster awareness and support for students and their families, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for their academic futures.
