Camden Fringe, run by The Camden Fringe Limited, is an exciting performing arts festival that takes place in Camden during August. Established in 2006 as an alternative to the Edinburgh Festival, it provides performers with a supportive setting to try out new material and ideas, with less time and financial commitments. The festival features a wide range of shows including new writing, opera, musicals, stand-up, sketch comedy, dance, cabaret, poetry, mentalism, improvisation, and Q&As.
The shows, which generally last for one hour, are held throughout the day in various venues across Camden. Anyone and everyone are welcome to apply and showcase their talents, from experienced performers to newcomers. With over 20 different venues and up to 300 acts annually, the Camden Fringe has gained a reputation for supporting acts and has become a platform for experimental and innovative work.
