About Campismo o Tamanco
O Tamanco is a campground in the green heart of Portugal’s Costa da Prata, between Porto and Lisbon. Led by David and Rebecca, this nature-focused retreat welcomes families, outdoor enthusiasts and travellers seeking a peaceful place to unwind or a convenient base for exploring central Portugal. Guests can choose from camping and a range of accommodation options, including tubismo, yurts, cabanas and the Artist Shack. The site also promotes artist exchange and offers spaces and activities designed to bring visitors together.
At the heart of the campsite is the Cantina, a relaxed meeting place combining a bar, restaurant, garden and lounge. It serves coffee and waffles from the morning, along with food, drinks and cocktails throughout the day. Weekly offerings include a Friday “Dine Like A Local” evening and Saturday make-your-own-pizza nights.
O Tamanco invites guests to explore nearby historic sites, local markets, Portuguese cuisine, green hiking routes and the beaches and dunes between Figueira da Foz and Nazaré.
