About Campus Galli
Campus Galli is a brand that offers a unique experience of immersing oneself in the Middle Ages. On the construction site of the Campus Galli monastery, craftsmen and volunteers use 9th-century tools and techniques to build a monastery based on the famous St. Gallen Monastery Plan.
This plan, drawn up 1200 years ago on the nearby Reichenau Island, serves as the foundation for creating a living piece of history in Meßkirch. With no modern machinery or tools, the craftsmen hand-hew wooden beams and the sound of the anvil echoes from the forge. Everything is done by hand, which may be slower and more laborious, but also more fulfilling and satisfying.
Visitors can truly experience the Middle Ages firsthand at Campus Galli. In addition to the construction project, the brand also offers guided tours, educational programs for children and youth groups, and corporate seminars. Visitors can also explore the kitchen and taste the culinary delights of the Carolingian era.
