The Canadian Cowgirls Precision Drill Team is an award-winning equestrian performance team based in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. Its experienced riders and horses perform synchronized, rodeo-style musical drills in glittering costumes, showcasing precision, timing, and horsemanship while celebrating Canadian pride. The team includes horses of varied breeds, including Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Arabians, and Paints.
The Cowgirls have performed at major events across Canada and the United States. Highlights include the Calgary Stampede, where they won first place for Best Horse Entry among 850 horses, and the Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade, where they twice earned Best Mounted Unit. They have also represented Canada in the Tournament of Roses Parade, escorted the Olympic torch, served as an honor guard for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, and appeared on the Rick Mercer Report. A Canadian Armed Forces documentary featuring the team was created to support service members overseas.
Beyond performances, the Cowgirls volunteer with Chatham’s Accretional Riders therapeutic riding program, sharing their horses and love of riding with people with additional needs.
