About Canadian Elections Database
The Canadian Elections Database is a public resource for exploring more than 150 years of electoral history across Canada. It brings together information on federal and provincial elections, candidates, electoral districts, political parties, and provinces and territories. Visitors can review election results from 1867 onward, including winning parties and vote totals, and examine how political trends have changed over time.
The database also offers profiles for more than 70,000 candidates, with search filters for party, province, election year, and outcome. District pages provide information on boundaries, past results, winning candidates, and party trends, while regional pages highlight provincial election histories. Users can trace the development of political parties, from historic movements to modern caucuses.
An AI assistant, Ask Anthonai, is designed to answer questions using Canadian election data. The database also provides a public data API for querying electoral information, and its data supports election coverage through Political Affair. Visitors can contribute to the resource by reporting data issues or corrections
