The Canadian Flag Education Centre is a not-for-profit, knowledge-based presentation group based in Brockville, Ontario, which it identifies as the Birthplace of the Canadian Flag. The organization grew out of the 50 Years of Our Flag Committee, formed in 2010 to plan and carry out initiatives marking the maple leaf flag’s 50th anniversary and to recognize John Ross Matheson, known as the “Father of our Flag,” and Brockville’s connection to the flag’s history. Today, the Centre shares information about the Canadian flag through presentations and information sessions for service clubs, educational groups, and the public.
Its team travels across Canada in a vehicle called the “Flag Mobile” to bring these sessions to communities. The website also offers articles and videos, along with books, and provides ways for visitors to learn more or make contact. Through these educational resources and outreach activities, the Centre helps audiences explore the history and significance of Canada’s national flag
