Canalettomarkt

The Canalettomarkt, hosted annually in the picturesque Historical Altstadt of Pirna, transforms the town into a holiday wonderland. Scheduled for November 26 to December 23, and again from December 27 to December 30, 2024, this enchanting Christmas market draws both locals and visitors, especially families from neighboring Czech Republic. Established in 2013, the market celebrates the artistic legacy of the Italian painter Canaletto, who famously depicted Pirna in his works.

Beyond its stunning illuminated ambiance and famous Rathaus projections, the Canalettomarkt offers a vibrant Kunstmarkt on weekdays, featuring art from local creators. Visitors can enjoy traditional food, handcrafted goods, and live performances, making it a delightful social experience. The market runs during extended hours, accommodating various schedules with select stalls opening as early as 10 AM. Renowned as one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Saxony, the Canalettomarkt is a cherished destination for holiday celebrations. Join us for cherished memories and festive joy in the heart of Pirna!
