About CANADA-ASEAN Business Council
Founded in 2012, the Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) is an influential organization focused on promoting and strengthening trade relations between Canada and the ASEAN region. Established at the first ASEAN Economic Ministers consultation with Canada, the CABC operates with a region-wide mandate to foster increased trade and investment. Headquartered in Singapore, the CABC represents approximately 60 renowned companies that are actively engaged in business or investment activities between Canada and ASEAN.
As the voice of the private sector, the CABC aims to facilitate trade and investment in the Canada-ASEAN economic corridor through policy advocacy, networking, and education. The council has successfully launched various initiatives to support Canadian businesses in the region. Notable accomplishments include conducting comprehensive studies such as the Opportunities Study for Canadian Companies and producing the Canada-ASEAN Business Outlook Surveys in 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
These initiatives provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of doing business in ASEAN. The CABC serves as a vital platform for collaboration, enabling Canadian companies to tap into the immense potential of the ASEAN market. By offering strategic guidance and leveraging its extensive network, the CABC plays a crucial role in strengthening bilateral trade relationships and driving economic growth between Canada and ASEAN
