The Integrated Cancer Research Foundation (ICRF) is a non-profit research organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in 2018 by Hudson Alakonya and Ouna Kanyangi, with the later addition of Dr. Elliot Abbott, ICRF aims to address the burden of cancer in Kenya through evidence-based research. With a vision to manage the burden of cancer in Africa and become a leading cancer research organization globally, ICRF strives to combat cancer through cutting-edge research, evidence-based community outreach, and the establishment of sustainable foundations for cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

In Kenya, the rising cancer mortality rate and limited healthcare access underscore the urgent need for improved outreach, medical education, and cancer research. The majority of Kenyans with cancer are diagnosed in the later stages due to unstructured public awareness, limited resources, and inadequate access to screenings. ICRF aims to bridge this gap by enhancing cancer prevention, discovery, and treatment, with a focus on rural areas.
