With a vision to unite the nation through film, CanFilmDay promotes the diverse stories and remarkable accomplishments of Canadian filmmakers.

In its 10th anniversary in 2023, CanFilmDay hosted an impressive 1,584 events worldwide, reaching over 2.5 million viewers who participated from their homes or local venues. The initiative is organized by REEL CANADA, which emphasizes active engagement in reconciliation with Indigenous communities across the country. By providing insights into Indigenous histories and fostering connections, CanFilmDay not only celebrates cinematic achievements but also highlights the importance of cultural understanding and respect.
