Founded by the Club Canicross Rioja in 2013, this organization emphasizes solidarity, ethics, and animal welfare, advocating for the adoption of abandoned pets. Liga Rioja offers various competitive distances, including an 8 km general race for experienced teams, a 2 km popular segment for newcomers, and a fun 500 m race for children under 11, allowing families to engage in sport together.

Participants are required to ensure their dogs' well-being through veterinary checks, reinforcing the event's commitment to animal health. The club collaborates with local animal shelters, donating 100% of registration fees to support animal protection efforts.
