SICS Firenze Forte dei Marmi

Scuola Italiana Cani Salvataggio Firenze, also known as SICS Firenze, is a volunteer organisation and civil protection group serving Tuscany. Its primary mission is to help protect human life in the sea, lakes and white-water environments through water rescue activities supported by trained dog-and-handler teams. The school operates at locations including Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Massa, Florence, Tirrenia, Elba, Castiglione della Pescaia and Giglio Island.

Its canine units include members with lifeguard qualifications, canine-assisted lifeguard instructors and canine trainers. The organisation also shares information about its teams, projects, events and rescue work through news updates, photography galleries and public initiatives. Activities mentioned on its website include beach clean-ups, community appearances with its dogs and workshops on near-shore surveillance for lifeguards and aquatic rescuers. The association describes itself as non-profit and says it relies on the voluntary, spontaneous commitment of its members, pursuing social solidarity rather than commercial aims. Its work brings together water safety, animal training and community service across Tuscany.
