About Canadian Association of Neuroscience Nurses
The Canadian Association of Neuroscience Nurses (CANN) is a national professional organization dedicated to advancing neuroscience nursing in Canada. Its vision is to empower nurses to provide the highest quality care to Canadians. CANN sets standards of practice and promotes continuing education and research, supporting nurses who care for people with or at risk of neurological disorders. Through 12 chapters, members across Canada and internationally can connect for professional education and networking.
CANN offers General, Associate, Student, and Honorary memberships. Benefits include access to clinical resources and online learning, eligibility for awards and bursaries, reduced registration fees for its annual meeting, networking opportunities, support for neuroscience nursing certification, and a discounted membership rate with the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation. The association also publishes its Standards of Practice and the Canadian Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, and provides professional development funding through awards and bursaries. Its activities include an annual meeting and scientific sessions, opportunities to contribute blogs, and ways to participate in committees and association leadership.
