With a founding in 1939 by Fannie and Vincent Cannata, the brand has a rich history.

Vincent's early experience in his family's corner grocery store and dairy farm fostered his expertise in selecting top-quality fruits and vegetables. As he expanded his product line and delivery routes, customers across the region became loyal patrons. Vincent met Fannie, and together they opened a fruit stand in Morgan City before establishing their pioneering modern supermarket with self-service layout in the city.

Over the years, Cannata's Market has grown to include multiple locations, including a superstore with an impressive range of offerings such as an in-store restaurant, catering service, flower shop, wine and liquor store, and delivery service.
