About Climate Action Network South Asia
Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) is a coalition of over 250 civil society organizations working in eight South Asian countries to address the adverse effects of climate change. CANSA promotes government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change, while prioritizing equity, social justice, sustainable development, and environmental protection. As a leading voice representing southern perspectives at international climate negotiations, CANSA undertakes inter-governmental, regional, and national actions.
CANSA's work is centered around various key areas, including promoting a just and equitable transition, understanding and addressing climate impacts, advocating for climate-resilient and inclusive cities, and addressing climate-induced displacement and migration in South Asia. They also engage in global civil society strengthening programs and participate in multilateral processes. CANSA offers a wide range of resources, including publications, press releases, advocacy materials, blogs, webinars/events, and news updates.
By actively linking policy work, research, and on-the-ground action, CANSA strives to find workable solutions to combat climate change and mitigate its effects on the South Asian region
