Canter Down Farms

Canter Down Farms is an equestrian facility in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, offering hunter-jumper and equitation riding lessons, horse boarding, horse shows, and summer camps. Established in 1995 by owner and trainer Karen Knies, the farm draws on her more than 40 years of riding experience and background across show barns, racetracks, western disciplines, 4-H, and Pony Club. Her approach emphasizes education and helping riders develop confidence and enjoyment in equestrian sport.

The farm hosts its own horse shows, including a series at Silver Sands Bridle Club, with published schedules and prize lists for participants. Its offerings also include clinics and a range of CDF products, such as jumps and branded merchandise. Canter Down Farms shares information about appointments and payment through its website and welcomes visitors to its location on Turnbull Bay Road. The farm also highlights EZ ICE hoof packs and combo boots, products designed to cool hooves and help relieve pain and heat-related swelling.
