Canto 31

Canto 31 is a cultural association based in Bologna, Italy, dedicated to writing, literature and creative expression. It brings together aspiring and experienced writers through practical workshops, courses, literary events and other cultural activities. Its programme covers creative writing, expressive reading, television screenwriting, fairy-tale writing and crime fiction, with courses led by writers and other instructors including Gianluca Morozzi, Patrick Fogli and Alessandro Berselli.

The association’s workshops combine writing exercises with guidance on storytelling, characters, dialogue, setting and narrative structure. Some courses also explore distinctive creative approaches, such as using tarot symbolism to develop plots and characters. Longer programmes support participants as they work on stories or a novel, while events and meetings with writers offer further opportunities to engage with literature. Canto 31 also lists editorial services and anthologies among its activities, alongside participant testimonials and information about membership and partnerships. Through this varied offering, the association provides a local setting for learning, practising and sharing creative writing.
