The Cantors Assembly is an organization that connects cantors with congregations through its Placement Services. Designed to support both candidates and synagogue search committees, the service helps guide participants through the cantorial placement process and build lasting relationships between cantors and congregations. Members can access candidate resources by logging in, while search chairs can find placement information and forms to help organize a search.

The Placement Office offers practical materials for planning and conducting a cantorial search, including guidance on developing a congregation’s profile and statement of needs. It also assists with candidate communications and interviews, and provides congregations with access to qualified candidates. Testimonials from participating synagogues describe support at different stages, from setting search direction and preparing materials to evaluating applicants and completing the hiring process. The office is staffed by a director of placement and a coordinator, who are available during posted weekday hours by phone and email.
