About Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy
CAOT_ACE, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, is a national organization that supports over 20,000 occupational therapists (OTs), occupational therapist assistants (OTAs), and students in Canada. Their aim is to enhance the health and well-being of Canadians by collaborating with individuals and communities to facilitate their engagement in meaningful activities. CAOT offers a range of resources, services, and learning opportunities to help OTs excel in their professional practice.
Additionally, they play a leadership role in advancing and promoting the field of occupational therapy both domestically and internationally. With a mandate to create a healthier and more inclusive world through occupational therapy practice and influence, CAOT prioritizes mobilizing strategic partners for equitable health and social systems, promoting relationship-focused occupational therapy, supporting OTs and OTAs as leaders, and fostering a thriving and inclusive occupational therapy community. They also focus on maintaining quality of practice while prioritizing justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.
Serving the profession since 1926, CAOT works to improve access to occupational therapy, advance career opportunities through professional development, accredit OT programs, and foster a sense of community among occupational therapists.
