About Cape Town Biogas
Cape Town Biogas is a pioneering organic waste processing facility located in Cape Town, dedicated to transforming waste into valuable resources using advanced anaerobic digestion technology. With the capability to process up to 250 tonnes of organic waste daily, the facility efficiently handles various waste streams, including packaged food waste, industrial sludge, and source-separated organics from diverse industries such as restaurants, hospitals, and the food and beverage sector.
Cape Town Biogas produces three main products from its operations. Bio-methane, a sustainable fuel, significantly reduces carbon emissions and powers generators, boilers, and vehicles. The facility also supplies beverage-grade carbon dioxide, vital for carbonating drinks and enhancing greenhouse crop growth, monitored by their CarboScan quality system. Additionally, the nutrient-rich organic fertilizer generated from the anaerobic digestion process promotes soil health and supports eco-friendly agriculture.
