Capital Basketball serves as Wellington’s premier hub for basketball, established as a charitable trust in 2016. With a mission to enhance access and promote youth development, Capital Basketball supports local associations throughout the Greater Wellington region, including areas like Kapiti, Porirua, Hutt Valley, and Wairarapa.

Initiatives such as BNZ Kiwi Hoops, Girls Got Game, and 3x3 Basketball provide pathways for skill development and physical fitness. Additionally, Capital Basketball promotes community engagement through events like the Matariki Festival and resources for coaches and referees.
