About Capital City Pride
Capital City Pride is a non-profit organization based in Des Moines, IA, dedicated to bringing together members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and allies. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive community where the presence and contributions of LGBTQ+ people are celebrated and where justice and civil rights are valued and respected. Our flagship event is the annual PrideFest weekend celebration, but we also organize a range of other programs and events throughout the year.
These events aim to inspire, educate, commemorate, and celebrate our diverse community and culture. From speaker series and book clubs to volunteer opportunities and resource support, we strive to provide a comprehensive platform for engagement and empowerment. Additionally, Capital City Pride is committed to philanthropy and supports various causes in the Des Moines area.
Our efforts extend to supporting children, the homeless, veterans, parks, and numerous organizations throughout Iowa. Join us in creating a more inclusive and accepting society by becoming a part of Capital City Pride
