Capoeira in Flensburg

Capoeira Flensburg e.V. is a registered association that has been active since 2012, sharing the practice and culture of Capoeira in Flensburg and Nordfriesland, Schleswig-Holstein. The organization offers training at two locations and welcomes people of all backgrounds, whether they are new to Capoeira or already familiar with its movements and music.

Capoeira combines movement, play, combat, dialogue and music. Practised in pairs within a circle called a roda, it brings together attacks and evasions, traditional percussion instruments, and singing in Portuguese. Training introduces participants to individual movements, such as the Armada, Martelo, Aú and Esquiva Baixa, then develops them into sequences that help players communicate through movement in the roda. The association presents Capoeira as both a physical practice and a cultural tradition shaped by a long history of resistance and liberation.

No prior experience or equipment is needed. Visitors can observe a session and join in at their own pace, and their first two training sessions are free.
