Capoeira Negrim

Grupo Capoeira Negrim (GCN) is a Brazilian capoeira organization with activities in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. Its roots date to June 7, 1997, when Professor Carlinhos Aidê, Professor Calango, and Professor Tulipa founded Grupo Rio-Minas under the guidance of Mestre Vieira. Following a period of adversity, Mestre Carlinhos Aidê, Professor Ligeiro, Professor Marrom, and Professor Legalzinho restructured the group in 2002 and adopted the Negrim name.

The organization is dedicated to teaching capoeira and passing on the art’s values, with a mission to help students become responsible, virtuous citizens. It aims to be a reference school for developing skilled capoeiristas and people of strong character, guided by discipline, integrity, commitment, courage, self-control, and prudence. GCN provides capoeira instruction through its academies and brings its community together for rodas and events.

Its website also shares the group’s history, information about its masters, institutional structure, symbols, grading system, and official song. A newsletter offers updates on events, capoeira gatherings, and related content
