CAPTAIN Coach

CAPTAIN COACH is a technology company and spin-off of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, established through the European Union-funded Horizon 2020 CAPTAIN project. Its work focuses on healthy ageing and independent living, developing digital solutions that support people who need guidance and care in everyday life. The company collaborates with experienced day-care centres and nursing homes to continue research in these areas.

At the heart of its offering is an AI-enabled interface designed to empower and motivate users as they set goals, receive feedback and work towards achievement across cognitive, physical, social and nutritional wellbeing. Its components include AI movement and emotion analysis, speech recognition and generation in multiple languages, user modelling, environmental monitoring and behaviour prediction. The interface also supports interaction through projections, speech, touch and natural body movements, aiming to make digital support intuitive and adaptable.

CAPTAIN COACH also participates in collaborative research and innovation projects. These include XGain, addressing digital connectivity inequalities between urban and rural areas, and CareBridge, which helps healthcare providers and caregivers access information about patients’ functional status and cognitive abilities across the continuum of care.
