Caraïbéditions is a publishing house founded in 2007 in the French Caribbean. Its catalogue focuses on the French overseas territories and their wider cultural connections, with books selected for their language, authorship, themes or settings. The publisher brings together established francophone writers and new voices, and publishes both original works and republications.
Its offerings span adult and young adult novels, crime fiction, poetry, theatre, essays, university-level works, comics, children’s albums, coloring books and illustrated learning materials. Many titles are available in French, Creole and other vernacular languages, including editions from Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Réunion. Caraïbéditions also publishes Creole translations of internationally known works. Its “Îles en poche” collection makes notable overseas literature available in paperback, while “Didascal’îles” features Caribbean plays with a history of performance, and “Poés’îles” highlights poetry.
Books are sold through bookstores and major retailers in overseas territories, as well as specialist and other bookstores in mainland France. Through its distributor, titles can also be ordered by bookstores in Europe and Africa.
