About Carbonaide
Carbonaide is one of the winners of the GasumHackathon, an open innovation competition launched by Gasum, a Nordic energy company. The competition aimed to find a partner with near-commercial solutions for carbon storage. Carbonaide's solution involves using biogenic CO2 in concrete manufacturing, which allows for the combination of carbon use and storage.
The other winner, Inherit Carbon Solutions, has a mature concept in which CO2 is permanently stored in geological storage. The competition was highly competitive, with all participants offering high-quality solutions. Gasum plans to continue discussions with all participating teams.
Carbonaide and Inherit Carbon Solutions are excited about the opportunity to cooperate with Gasum to develop their solutions. Gasum, with its network of biogas plants, produces up to 114,000 tons of biogenic CO2 annually. Investing in biogas is part of Gasum's strategy to help customers move towards a carbon-neutral energy future
