About CarbonCrop
CarbonCrop is a brand that utilizes artificial intelligence to assess carbon sequestration and issue carbon offsets for native forests. Unlike the Emissions Trading Scheme, CarbonCrop recognizes the importance of native forests in carbon sequestration. To determine eligibility for Native CarbonCrop Units, individuals can apply for a free land assessment.
These units represent one tonne of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere within the last five years by native forest. While similar to New Zealand Units (NZUs) issued by the Emissions Trading Scheme, CarbonCrop Units cannot be used for compliance obligations. Landholders who receive CarbonCrop Units have a binding obligation to maintain the regenerating biomass of the registered native forest for the next 100 years.
CarbonCrop is dedicated to creating better offsets through the preservation and health of forests. The brand also offers opportunities for landholders to earn revenue from native regeneration and for buyers to acquire high-integrity carbon offsets exclusive to native forests.
