Carbonlinked is a brand that aims to drive climate action by making it easy for anyone to trade mandatory carbon credits. Their primary product is the NZC token, which is completely collateralized by New Zealand Emission units (NZUs), the mandatory carbon credit of New Zealand. These emission units limit the amount that industries can emit and must be purchased and surrendered by emitters within New Zealand's Emissions Trading Scheme.
By buying and holding NZC tokens, individuals contribute to making it more expensive for industrial emitters and have the potential for high returns. Carbonlinked ensures transparency by maintaining that the supply of NZC tokens never exceeds its NZU holdings.
