Care and Learning Alliance (CALA) is the largest childcare and family membership organization offering universal services in the Highland and Moray areas, as well as having members in other parts of Scotland. With a one-door approach, CALA provides a wide range of Childhood Practice and Family Support services. They aim to create positive childhoods, empower parents, and foster dynamic communities.

Established in 1972 as part of the Scottish Pre School Play Association, CALA has evolved over the years to become an independently structured company known as Highland Pre-school Services. In November 2006, the organization changed its name to Care and Learning Alliance to reflect its expanded scope of work, which now includes children aged 5 to 16 years. CALA works collaboratively with Highland Council and other local authorities to recruit, support, and train staff dedicated to serving children and families.

The organization is guided by a diverse board of directors and a senior management team, ensuring consistently high standards in all aspects of their work. CALA's commitment to meeting the needs of every child and family is demonstrated through rigorous monitoring and continuous improvement efforts
