About CAREC Program
The CAREC Program, also known as the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program, is a regional initiative aimed at promoting economic cooperation and connectivity among its member countries. The program focuses on several key clusters, including economic and financial stability, trade, tourism, economic corridors, infrastructure and economic connectivity, transport, energy, agriculture, water, and human development. CAREC also addresses cross-cutting themes such as climate change, gender equality, and information and communication technology.
Through its diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives, CAREC has facilitated over $41 billion in investments in transport, trade, and energy infrastructure. The program fosters regional cooperation through various platforms, including senior officials' meetings, ministerial conferences, and working group meetings. Additionally, CAREC organizes events and programs to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, such as the Regional Startup Boot Camp and the University Innovation Exchange Program.
