Carindale Writers Group is a Brisbane-based writing community founded in 2000, bringing together writers of all genres and experience levels. For more than two decades, the group has offered a friendly, supportive environment where members can develop their skills, share ideas and connect with fellow writers. Meetings take place twice a month and include peer critiques of work submitted in advance by two members.
Participants may also write and read a short piece inspired by a selected theme; both activities are voluntary. Discussions explore elements such as style, plot, voice, story structure, point of view, editing, clarity and dialogue, offering writers considered feedback and practical suggestions. The group also helps members stay connected with the wider writing community through information about competitions, seminars and workshops.
Carindale Writers Group has published eight collections of members’ work, including Coffee, Cake & WORDS, 20/20 Vision Stories, Nailbiters – Not for the Nervous and Encounters, available through Amazon. New members and prospective visitors are welcome to get in touch for more information
