Caring For Carers

Caring for Carers is a not-for-profit community interest company supporting parent carers of children and young adults with a wide range of disabilities. No diagnosis is required to access its support. Primarily serving Stockport and Tameside, the organisation welcomes carers who can travel to these areas and also provides online resources through a private Facebook group.

The company aims to nurture carers’ wellbeing, confidence and connections through compassionate, practical and accessible services. Its activities include strength training tailored to individual needs and abilities, and a weekly run/walk group in Woodbank and Vernon Parks, with refreshments and peer support afterwards. Wellbeing sessions, offered in person and online, feature Yoga Nidra, meditation and breathwork. Retreat days provide opportunities to relax, take part in wellbeing and creative activities, and connect with other carers.

The members-only Facebook group offers a supportive space to share experiences, ask questions, find useful resources and access online sessions.
